The fact that neither the aliens or the humans were truly 'good guys' was what I liked about it, it added an air of realism that worked for this kind of movie. I could go on forever about the fx. If I can recall the aliens were all entirely cg. fucking amazing! Usually I prefer animatronics or makeup . was actually . Ridley Scott's alien was a guy in a suit. Anways they really did a great job integrating the aliens with the live action for district 9. It's hard to imagine how much better things can get for cg in the future hell yeah! district 9 was probably as unique as it gets for a sci-fi film released in big theaters.
