I was waiting for a movie like this to be made. Sure it is ULTRA B, who cares I still had fun watching this. A bunch of collage age kids go to Europe to take psychedelic mushrooms on their camping trip together. There is some legend of the forest about shrooms and some insane asylum and some killer. Scary story telling leads to bad trips. I like psychedelics, so when I saw this in the rental store, I just had to pick it up no matter how dumb it looked. Yeah it’s kind of cheesy. I still liked it though. I really like some of their hallucination scenes.

The acting was ok, kind of bad in parts, kind of good in some. I really liked how they shot some of the scenes. It really did creep me out a little in parts, because they are all tripping, reality becomes twisted, and it’s hard to tell what is going on. I kind of like how confusing it was. I think they did a decent job of making it seem psychedelic. The movie does have some silly Irish stereotypes thrown in. Irish hillbillies and psychos in the forest.

I liked the predictable story twists, and I really liked the Irish accents. If you like horror movies, and drugs, this one is good fun. I think it’s worth checking out. Definitely worth a rent if you like silly B horror movies. I give this a 3 out of 5. Click here to buy dvd.

Where to start. Ok. THIS IS THE BEST FILM EVER MADE!!!!! GO SEE IT NOW!. ok, now that I got that out of the way let me explain. This to me is pretty damn cyber punk, also, reminded me a lot of the first robocop which is also one of my favorite films of all time. The grunt bad guys “private military” reminded me of the bad guys in robocop in a weird way. I was not expecting what I saw, when the movie first starts, you think you are watching a documentary.

As a misanthrope, it shows the human race in a way that really makes me hate them as I do. When you watch it, you will see why. I really do not want to give away too much, but man, the special fx, how it looks, how it was filmed, the characters, the aliens, the story, how it all works out. AMAZING!!! I need some new sci fi that breaks ground, and this one does it in ultra violent colors. SPLAT!!! GO SEE THIS NOW!! 10 out of 5!!!!!!

Steve told me to check this out, my tivo didn’t record it for some reason, so when I was at the store the other day, I saw it sitting there, in a blue ray form for like 25 bucks. So I snagged it. Bought it home and watched it. I had already been a fan of the TV show over the last few years, in fact, one of my favs of all time. The show is known for pushing the edge, being bleak, dark and full of death. Gay male roles that are not comic relief. Serious subject matter. Heavy. I love it. So raw and real for a sci fi show. Yes, this is a Dr who spin off. But wow, this is way more adult and serious than Dr Who.

This made me cry. Not many things do that to me, sure it’s cheesy scifi, but really I have grown to really like the characters in this, and watching them all suffer the way they do really strikes a chord in me. I really recommend watching any thing that has to do with this series. Even though this is technically the end of this series(saddens me), this is a great place to start. If you like this, then you will love the regular TV series. Production level is really great, shot well, and in HD. This looks phenomenal in 1080p on blue ray! That is why I bought a ps3 and not the 360. Blue ray on stuff like this is super epic and totally amazing to look at. This is a great sci fi story, creepy, and hard core, don’t let the kids put you off, this has some seriously heavy tear jerking moments. Rough over view: Aliens come, again, and want more. Hell ensues. Xfiles like, but with that dr who flair, and the british despair and raw serious edge that you will not find on american tv. GET THIS, worth every penny. 5 out of 5. This is the cartoon I watch over and over again. I love the characters, the stories and all the humor, subtle and blatant. Seriously, Jim foetus, from the band foetus does all the music!!!!! LOVE IT, and if you don’t know foetus, here is one of his songs I used to play when i dj’d back in the day. LOL.

Any how, this cartoon is hilarious, influenced by all the old cartoons I used to watch when I was a little kid a long time ago. Adult themes, fucked up situations. Adult swim. I like it more than the other shows on adult swim now for sure. It stands the test of time better, wittier, and way more replay value. Absolutely a must watch for me. check it out on adult swim on the cartoon network.

I am a huge buffy, and angel and firefly freak. I watch bones too. Supposedly this will be like those. So watch it, and get your friends too as well. If people don’t watch they pull the plug, and fire fly deserved 8 seasons in my opinions. So be sure to tune into FOX tonight and watch Dollhouse. Support good stuff, I hope it’s good.

Ogre, Ogre, Ogre. Let me start there. The main reason I bought this. Ogre. How is his second acting job?(his first in Doom Generation) GREAT. What did he remind me of? Chiana from farscape, His stance, sure i know he has been doing that stance on stage since the 80s, but seeing it in HD on my big screen, reminded me of the grey chick in Farscape. Ogre’s Character had this italian nut job kind of voice. Loved it. Ok ok ok, You know that I am an ogre fan. Big time. Oh well. That is what sold me on this film. But what else is there? Is this worth your time in all honesty? yes. I’ll explain after the trailer.

Giles. Giles from Buffy The Vampire Slayer(tv show). I am a sucker for Joss Whedon’s madness. I love buffy and angel, I get shit for it, But I cannot help it. Hell I even watch bones because of angel. Any way, there was a musical Buffy Episode at one point, and Giles was fun in that as well, so I was expecting this to be kind of like that. Well, This is much better. Sometimes the Dialogue and the songs have a hard time jiving, but it works with a little tongue in cheek cheese sense of the film. It is cheese, But fun cheese with gore and a comic gothic dark over tone. Paul Sorvino(goodfellas) also does a good job acting in this.

Gothic Paris Hilton? Oh man. I thought I hated that rich debutantish whore. I see she doesn’t take shit to seriously. Dare I say it, as a goth, she is ummm. Eeer, umm… I had better not. Any how, She does well in this movie. I was actually surprised. She can actually act and sing, in this musical at least. I only hope that she reprises her role in a sequel to this. The door was left open by the story, so I can only hope they make another one

The daughter role, was filled by Alexa Vega (one of the Spy Kids, you know that kids movie from a few years back) LOL. I thought i recognized her when watching it. I had to look her up on the net. She does a pretty good job for the most part. Love the Gas Mask. Also, Sarah Brightman the English classical crossover soprano does a smashing job in this as well. And also, as a goth, looks…. ummmm… I dare not say. …. Is it me, or do a lot of girls just look better goth?

This musical has gore. That really helps. It also has Bill Moseley(devils rejects, another great movie) in it as ogre’s brother. He does a great job as well. I don’t want to give away the story or anything even though it is kind of typical comic book drama with a horror twist. In all seriousness, I can honestly say this is a fun cheesy horror musical. And yes, it may turn into a cult classic. The Presentation is very well done, how the comic style(heavily kmfdm lp art influnced) is woven in and out. The CGI stuff is very industrial, post apocalyptic in the way that I love to death. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves ogre and skinny puppy. Do not think all musicals are bad, I used to hate them until I saw the south park movie(lol). Sure this is over the top, and silly in parts. I think that is part of the allure. This is a fun movie. I really enjoyed this. This is the rocky horror picture show for Industrial Goth Kids, and all the people from the 80s who loved bands like skinny puppy and ministry. I give this a 4 out of 5.
