New Trophies

Whats new in 1.60:
New Special Forces
The Dutch KCT and the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces teams are featured in this update. Each Force is provided with two new heads, adding to the existing pool of selectable Special Forces heads. Additionally, they each get a light, medium and heavy variant of their own torso and legs as with other Special Forces and they each have their own Special Force-specific camouflage patterns and headgear. New voice-overs have been added for the new Special Forces characters as well.

New Weapons
Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces: the 417 assault rifle for the Dutch KCT and the SPAS-15 shotgun for the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces. In addition, four new weapons will be available to all players regardless of assigned Special Force: the 9mm Sub and M82A1A for the Mercenaries and the AK-74 and SR-25 for the Commandos.

Pros:
They really nailed it. It plays a little better. Still not arcade fast like socom 2, but it just feels better than it did. The new maps make this so much fun, finally sniper maps. The graphics also look slightly better than before. If you pick Cold Front games, you never have to play quarantine again. The thermal scope(the thermal scope has 3 modes, so cool) and the sniping in the new maps has really made me re work my controls, I customized mine, now my l1 is zoom in, and l2 is zoom out, and dpad up is my quick select, and my r2 is my chat button/command, and my left stick pushed in is run, more like call of duty controls. These new controls make it way easier to zoom in and out for thermal scope, and it has totally changed the gaming experience for me. Now I am very careful around corners, and always use the thermal scope to look for snipers so I can call them out. I do like the new classic maps, Blizzard(older socom map remake) is my least favorite(good for sniping), Night Stalker(older socom map remake) rocks and is wintery, with places to go into. Vigilance(older socom map remake) is really cool too, and is great for sniping. The real winners are the two new ones that slant 6 made. Yes these are so much better than the ones they made on confrontation desert themed maps that came with the original game. Entrapment, this map is amazing on breach or extract in the medly modes. My favorite map in socom so far, a subway station that is under construction. Uprising, which is kind of like Vigilance, but better. I am floored at how good these maps are.

The new guns are amazing, I switched from French(famas junkie) to the Dutch(417 junkie now). Finally an assault rifle that is better than the mercenaries ak47, more range, and more damage, this thing is great for long distance, and good up close, its a 1 or 2 shot kill in most cases like how the m14 is, but you have a 20 round clip. Cool. The ak107 is good, has a lot of recoil though. The ak 74 is really accurate and better than the m164a for sure. I just wish they gave the mercenaries one of these guns instead of the VAL, which is good up close, but sucks at a distance. Now you have special CE classes, if you select one, you will unlock grips, and new guns, but only for the class you select, and you only get points for using the gun in the class you select. Sucks though because if you switch to another, you will lose all your CE points and special unlocks for that class, so its a 1 class at a time deal. Still cool, and it does not turn the game into call of duty, its only a couple of unlocks in each class. Does not turn the tables at all like the call of dukey stuff does. Seriously, I have been playing this non stop since it was launched weeks ago. This really made the game something new. The arms race game mode is pretty cool, I really like it , makes things fresh. 3 missle launchers, as mercs you set them to fire, as seals you must stop them. I feel like I am playing a new game. 1.60, and the DLC really made this more fun and exciting again. I want more DLC damn it, more maps, new and old. The snow theme really kicks ass. Now I want jungle maps!

Cons:
They made the night maps so damn dark, which is really stupid, because in real life, your eyes would adjust to the dark, and would no way be that dark when there are stars in the sky. They ruined the game if you don’t download the DLC, because people who have the DLC do not get to play people who did not download the dlc. They took out certain match types in the rooms, and did not do a good job of making it easy to play both, you can only play both old and new maps if you do the quick match game type. This is stupid, there should be rooms where you can do all maps. Not just cold front, or just the original ones, STUPID. On blizzard, you can shoot the snowman and make him explode, even if you shoot him in the face. This is totally stupid. You still cannot switch your weapons if you are the last man to die in a match. You always revert back to your default load out after a game ends, and I wish there was a toggle for this. Sometimes I want to just keep playing with what I selected in the game, if I don’t die last, I can change it again tho, but it’s annoying, I want the option. They force you to buy the DLC if you want to play this game at all. They took 3 demolition rooms away, that sucks. WTF, it takes us way longer to find games now, sure quick match works, but man, everyone leaves after one match in quick match, and quick match is where all the lame ass newbs show up with out head sets, they don’t communicate, and with out that, your team always loses. So, with this dlc, they took three steps forward, and 1 step back. So despite this BS, it is still a really great game.

Total Score: 9.0 out of 10:
Over all, this made this game so much better to me. It made me raise the score from 7.7 to 9.0. I don’t know why I don’t score this game higher, honestly, I play this more than any other online game in the history of me playing multiplayer games. (my stats: 2143 games played, 272 hours total) I don’t think I have even played quake and those old pc shooters as much as I have played socom on PS3. Now that this is a little more polished and most all of the bugs that made the game suck ass like shooting over railings, reloading on debris and so many other things, like retarded AI for the VIPs has all been ironed out. They did mess up a few things, and there is still a little more that could be added and fixed. But really, I feel like this is finally out of the beta stage. This finally feels solid. I am completely sold on this. Now if the rest of the world would wake up and realize what a unique and totally better shooter this is over games like halo, call of duty, and anything like that. I wanted to give this a 9.5, and I would if all the bugs and the annoying things get worked out of it. This is my favorite shooter of all time, and it’s online only. I cannot wait for single player modes, and more DLC. Or Socom 4. I will say this as well, I don’t like socom 2, you run super fast, and die way to fast. Its an arcade game, as to where this socom is closer to SIM, not a sim per say, but closer to it. I like that you don’t run 90 miles an hour like in socom 2. I’m glad it doesn’t have all the cheap jump shoot shit socom 2 has. The graphics are way better than any other socom, and the sound and realism is amazing. Nuff said. Go buy this DLC if you own the game, it will only set you back 15 bucks to get an entirely new gaming experience. So if you sold this game in frustration long ago, go pick it up used, get the updates and spend the 15, and you will be happy I bet.

Here are the new maps with names so you can call out locations to your teammates. Very cool.

Opening words: Big production, lots of new tweaks. Is this enough? Does this game live up to the hype? It sells and sells and sells.

Presentation: 8.5
No frills, perfect. Menus are easy to navigate. The look and feel is great, the loading screens that tell you the intel are really well done. The characters are ok. The way the story is told is ok.

Single Player: 9.0
Very cool. My favorite out of all the call of duty games to date. They flank you, hit you from all sides. The game play is spot on. This is a ton of fun, even with the controversial part of the game on or off. I played through the controversial part. It made me laugh, but I know it’s just a game. IT’S JUST A GAME. I like how they push the envelope. I give them props for that. I just think they should make it even more realistic on both sides of the war. There are a few parts in the single player campaign that I loved, going to DC, and fighting in the american suburbs in a taco bell, now that really made me go WOW(never have seen this before in a game, but I some how fear that this will be our reality soon, like hollywood and these games are just a prelude of what is to come in real life). The only bad thing, IT’S TOO FUCKING SHORT! About 4 to 6 hours.

modern-warfare-2-screenshot-8

Multiplayer: 7.5
Ok, there are pros and cons. They really tweaked this since the last game. Pro’s first. The spec ops mode is AMAZING. 2 player combat missions. This is so cool if you have a buddy to play with. We spent a lot of time doing this and having a blast! If they add more DLC missions of this, I will be so happy, now to the normal multiplayer aspect of the game. The upgrade part of the multi player is really well done. This is fast paced, hop in, and have a fun arcade like fps experience. They have host migration now, so if the host drops out, it will pause the game and find a new host. The guns are much different this time around. I really like some of the perks, how now you get random crates when you get 5 or 6 kills, you have to get it before the others after you throw down the helicopter marker for the drop. This was so much fun. The new kill streak perks in the game really kicked so much ass, AT FIRST. now the CONS: Let me start by saying the hit detection in this game is a joke. Half of the time on the kill replays, you can see the cross airs not even on the target but the shots are still hitting the target. WOW. The hit detection is super easy, and the auto aim as well, in my opinion ruins the game, and gives skill to people who really have none. The kill streak perks have now lead to the worst thing “CAMPING”.

The above video pretty much nails the problem. The CAMPING ruins a game like this that is based on fast twitch arcade fun. Now it’s read a book, roast some marshmallows and pitch a tent, and wait for some bad guys. NOT FUN AT ALL. and playing against these jerks that do this, really takes the piss out of all of it. Ok, Also, there are perks in the game that make it so you can run fast and knife people from 10 fucking feet away. A guy in my clan thinks this is fun. I think it is completely stupid. Super human strength and agility. Man, they really fucked this up, I would rather go back to the original modern warfare and play shipment with my buddies than any of this new Camping shit. Really a shame because the new multiplayer maps rock, the air port, and the house in the woods. Some of the best yet. They made the famas burst fire only making the gun useless in my opinion. Sorry but I would rather play the old version of this game, uncharted 2, borderlands, or SOCOM than this online. The multiplayer was fun before people figured out the camping. Now, forget this frustrating piece of shit multiplayer mode, only spec ops is worth playing on this game.

They barely made it better. The blood splash looks better. On the ps3, it’s decent looking, but no where close to uncharted 2 or killzone 2. Not even close. This game looks more like dlc for the original modern warfare to me. Good, but not really coming close to being the best, uncharted 2 owns the title now.

Nothing ground breaking. Typical. Voice acting is ok in parts. The in game chatter is really well done on the single player part of the game though. I still think Socom has the best sounds.

951944_20090619_790screen020-640x

Game Mechanics: 8.5:
For newbs, this is as easy as it gets. Its tight, fast, responsive and really well done. The problem is that the hit detection in this game is far to forgiving. Other wise, this is just like any of the other call of duty games. I do really like the guns, and the riot shield is a lot of fun at first. I am not a huge fan of auto aim glitch twitch gaming mechanics, and this is why I always go back to socom in the end.

951944_20090619_790screen018-640x

Story: 6.5
The story is hard to follow, you jump around in the game, and take on the role of several different soldiers before the game comes to an end. This is poorly executed. I felt like I was playing DLC, not a new full game. Can you remember the story from the last modern warfare? I don’t really. This is the same. Forgettable.

951944_20090618_790screen001-640x

Replay: 7.0
With all the other stuff that is out, like the new socom dlc, uncharted 2 etc, this really bores me. They made the main multiplayer worse with the pro camping game perks. The spec ops rocks, but once you beat them all, hmm, boring. If new spec ops dlc comes out. I will keep this around for that. For everything else, it’s a rent.

951943_20090601_790screen002-640x

Total Score: 7.9 out of 10:
Over all I was disappointed. I am glad I waited to review this after my initial glee for the game wore off. This is a RENT. Camping ruined the arcade run and gun fun. They offered no fix for this camping either. If you like camping, by all means, buy this game. It is worth playing. The single player is great, but super short. The spec ops is mega fun with a buddy, but there are not enough missions. The regular online multiplayer mode is CAMP FEST CENTRAL. Lame.

uncharted2s

Opening words: BREATHTAKING. EPIC. GAME OF THE YEAR CONTENDER. If you have been holding off on buying a ps3, that is silly, especially now. This game is worth the $380 that you will have to spend if you don’t have a ps3 already. Is the game alone worth $65 after tax? To me its worth $100.

Presentation: 9.8
Everything is stellar. I cannot complain about anything really when it comes to the presentation, the look and feel, the menus, the load times are not to bad, everything is in the right place. The story telling is fantastic, the characters are cool, voice acting, sound production, visuals. Everything is perfect.

uncharted_2__among_thieves-playstation_3screenshots154687

Perfect. The enemies on normal are a bit dense, put it on hard, flank city. You play a motion picture. You play an epic adventure. This time, it is longer, looks better, controls better, shoots better and climbs better. You will travel all over the world in this adventure. You will fight a lot of enemies. You will use and assortment of weapons. You will climb and solve puzzles, you will see and hear great acting. You will be floored by the visuals on a high def TV. The details are unreal. The water, the textures, the cities are amazing. In the single player game, there are some of the most memorable video game action scenes ever in the history of all gaming when you are fighting in a collapsing building also on that train both when climbing the train and when fighting on it. So many holy shit moments. I have not felt like this since I played Metal Gear Solid 4. You really owe it to yourself to experience this game.

uncharted_2__among_thieves-playstation_3screenshots154621

Multiplayer: 9.5
Wow, special co-op missions with your friends, there are only 3, but man, are they re-playable. In the co-op mode you still unlock upgrade points for all multiplayer modes that makes this a cool mode to grind for points on. There is a points system, where you can unlock stuff like upgrading the guns, costumes etc. The other multiplayer modes are great as well, plunder is like capture the flag, instead of a flag, it is this big heavy treasure with a handle, and you can throw it, but when you pick it up, you can only use your hand gun, and it severely affects how fast you can walk, it is pretty realistic. Death Match, Elimination(like socom), Zone mode etc. It is kind of standard. But what really makes this game so unique is the climbing, and multi level playing field that adds this whole other level of fun that other shooters don’t have. This is a 3rd person shooter as well which also makes it more fun to me in a lot of ways. Hang from signs and shoot. So cool. My one complaint is with the gun power, in real life, the round of an ak 47 will knock you on your ass, in this stupid game, you have to unload half a clip with that gun to drop someone, I am sorry, that is un acceptable.

Uncharted_2__Among_Thieves-PlayStation_3Screenshots16669Uncharted2_01

Visuals: 9.9
No joke, this is a graphical powerhouse. The best video game art I have ever seen. When they talk, their faces match the words, and they have facial expressions. They don’t look and act like moving statues like most other games do. I can just stop and look around in any of the environments and be amazed. Sometimes in some places you will see breath taking over looks, or landscapes, over mountains and lakes, so many pretty places. On the train fight scene you are actually moving through a real place, if you look to the sides you will see a real world and this is really damn neat. This game really makes me feel like I am in another world, it completely immerses me. The only things that kind of are off, are some of the shadows, and when you look up in the jungle in some places(which you hardly do) the trees can look like they came out of world of warcrack. The gun fire, and some of the epic destruction scenes, the debris and stuff that flies every where looks so cool. The lighting is really well done in this as well, and yes the dry wet fx are back. Everything looks better than the first Uncharted, and in my opinion that game was stellar. The snow fx in this are unreal, how it sticks on you, how it moves around as you walk through it, the snow blowing, this is stunning. This is the best looking console game on any system.

uncharted_2__among_thieves-playstation_3screenshots154709

Game Mechanics: 9.0:
You do walk around like you have a stick up your ass. LOL, but that is not a big deal to me. The cover system in this game is a little odd at times, and takes some getting used to, but it is tolerable. What sets this game over the top though is the climbing and jumping mixed with the gun play. No other game does this as well. Sure there was tomb raider, but that game feels so clunky and crappy compared to this. There is no aim assist in this game either, so you have to play with skill or die a horrid death and be forced to listen to the ultra crappy death music. This game is easy to pic up and get the hang of. It is like other 3rd person and first person shooters, you have to be able to aim with your right thumb well or you will hate this. The puzzles are pretty easy, but fun.

uncharted_2__among_thieves-playstation_3screenshots154632

Story: 9.5
Most video game stories bore me to death. In all honestly I have liked the story in this video game better than the last couple of raiders of the lost ark movies. This is so good they plan on making real movies off of them, and I have a feeling they just might work out to be good. Most gaming movies suck so bad. So I cross my fingers that it wont suck. Sure this is a treasure hunter game, but the character development in this is actually good, and you usually fight in the game with an AI partner, and they make funny comments about each other all the time like real people do. They talk about the environments like real people would. The dialogue detail is great. No other game has this level of quality and detail.

Co-op missions, plus your typical shooter game modes. This unique take on online shooting really makes me keep coming back to it. I think I will get back to it after I beat borderlands(bordercrack).

Total Score: 9.7 out of 10:
Is this a system seller AAA title? HELL YES. Is this a good game? HELL YES. This is the best treasure hunter game ever made. This game has the best acting, the best story, and the best graphics and great game play. It is not the most original game made, but it does it all so right, better than all the competition put together. This game really pushes the hard ware of the ps3, and no, this could never look as good on the 360 or wii. This is a great reason to buy a ps3. Buy Uncharted 2 for the ps3 by Clicking Here.

Very easy to hop on the playstation network and get a game up and running. You can play against anyone in the world from anywhere. The lag is ok, works as good as the ps3 version. This is perfect for trips, tours, traveling with friends. I used to think that I was amazing at this game, because I could own all my friends. Back in the day, Fro and I used to play this game religiously on the dreamcast and his original xbox. This brings those days back, too bad there is no team battle mode though. I really miss team battle mode. You can make your own characters and play them online as well. In the quick match single player mode, the AI is great, the best AI I have ever experienced in a game. Another great thing about this version is that most all of the characters are unlocked form the get go, you don’t have to play the single player forever to unlock all the playable characters. Most of the characters from the past soul calibur games are in here!!!!

Presentation: 9.7
For a psp game, this is amazing. The menus are easy to navigate, look good, and are simple. Easy to get into any game type. This lives up to the Soul Calibur standard. The look and feel is here, they also added a couple of new characters, Kratos via god of war makes his debut and fits right in and in my opinion simply the best character added to any of the version of the games previously. Kratos takes the cake. Kick ass combos and distance attacks. Dampierre also makes his debut and fits right in and adds a great new funny character to the fold. The cool thing that they brought in from the ps3 version is the character creation mode. This can yeild some hilarious results. I wish you could make them more exaggerated over all, but it is really satisfying.

On the PSP, this is hands down the best looking fighting game on the unit to date. Soul Calibur has always been a litmus test for graphics on any console it has appeared on. This time it push the PSP to the edge. This is why I will never buy a Nintendo product, they never look and play this good! Never. Screen shots never do psp games justice, when you see it running on the psp it looks amazing on it’s screen, do not be fooled by these screenshots.

Typical sword play sounds, and really cheesy dialog and voice acting. But you gotta love it. Some of the voices are so annoying and fun. The music is the same old symphonic Soul Calibur type music you hear in everyone of the previous games. I remember it blowing me away back in the dreamcast days, not so much anymore. Time for something new guys.

soul_calibur_broken_destiny_profilelarge

Game Mechanics: 9.5:
This is where Soul Calibur really shines. It has the complexity of a really advanced fighter, But can be picked up and button mashed with success as well. People new to the game can really jump in with out too much trouble. It really plays just like the old ones did, and I prefer using the Dpad as well. Move in 3d, jump, crouch, and this game has great distance and running attacks. I used to play these games int he arcade and win money. Now days I hope online and my face get’s used as a mop on the floor. :( There is the Quick match mode, that lets you play against a random list of characters that comes up, and some of them are home made character created style enemies. The AI in this is amazing, much more human and unpredictable. Harder than any of the other Soul Calibur games. I think this is good though. There is the Gauntlet mode which is the story mode, but they fuse the instructions into it, so its the story/tutorial mode. Kind of annoying if you know everything about the previous games honestly.

This is the kind of game I can play over and over again. I find myself playing it right before I go to bed. So cool. It doesn’t get old for me. The online play, the character creation, and the cool quick match arcade mode really makes me come back again and again.

Opening words: I originally bought this to check out the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta that came with the pre order of this game. This game had a lot of hype to live up to. Does it?

Presentation: 9.2
The menus, the look and feel, everything has it’s own style and character. I am really impress with this new IP. I can see a bright future for this game. I bet money that there will be a sequel. I really like the bleak run down look of the city. It really looks like something really bad happened. I love how the pedestrians behave, and change according to you being good or evil. It has a very comic book like feel to it. When the cut scenes happen, you see slides like a comic book. Cool.

GoodCole-Shockwave--screenshot_viewer_medium

Single Player: 8.4
This is a sand box kind of game. With that said, it borrows from GTA, but leaves out driving(which i think sucks). It also borrows from Assassins Creed, you can climb up on just about everything. Over all, the way the game plays is pretty cool, you level up and can become really powerful, the enemies get harder and harder as well, and if you do not upgrade the right way, the game can be rather difficult. You can help people, or just kill everyone and be selfish, the way you play determines the outcome of the story. Some of the non story levels become tedious and repetitive and that really annoyed me and kept me from giving this a higher score.

EvilCole6--screenshot_viewer_medium

Visuals: 8.7
Everything looks like a grimy GTA 4. It does look a little better than gta 4, but not much. The visual fx are what keep it looking from really bad, once the action starts, explosions and electricity really makes the game come alive and look really cool. The attention to detail is better than prototype for sure. But still, most sandbox style games never have the best graphics because the engine has to do so much.

EvilCole7--screenshot_viewer_medium

Audio: 8.0
The music is really well done, the ambience in the city really adds to the feel of the game. The voice acting is um, I dunno, OK, nothing great, but nothing horrid.

GoodCole13--screenshot_viewer_medium

Game Mechanics: 8.0:
It controls like a first person shooter meets GTA. Climbing is relatively easy although I found it kind of annoying at times like how I would want to jump on something, but it wouldn’t stick, then when I don’t want to just on to something it does stick. This didn’t happen all the time but enough to annoy me at certain points. There are some levels that are more like a platforming game, when you go underground into the sewers. I liked the platforming aspect but it felt like an after thought compared to what you do in the rest of the game. The game felt like it was broken into sections, annoying non story elements which help you get points to unlock powers. Then the underground parts to get upgrades. Then the mains story. Two are done well, while one is annoying and tedious in my opinion. I also did not like the map indicator. This was such a pain in the ass to tell where to go and what to do. There is this color fade thing, and you hit a button and it will pulsate in the direction you have to go, I was not fond of it. Over all the over the shoulder shooting was good. Being able to move in all directions and battle was intense. It is good, but not perfect. The short comings in the game did not ruin the game at all though. The skills you unlock are really cool You get different powers depending on weather you play good(blue) or evil(red). The upgrades in your skills really makes this game a lot of fun to play once you advance far in the game you really feel powerful.

hero_screen_and_depth_70--screenshot_viewer_medium

Story: 8.5
The story is done in that comic book fashion. The voice acting and plot points also have this kind of generic comic book feel. If you love comics this is great, if not, its um, OK. Some cool plot twists, and unexpected things in the end. The story makes you want to play the game to find out what is next. Well done in this aspect.

Sasha--screenshot_viewer_medium

Replay: 8.2
Good and Evil. Being able to play both ways, will change the story. Both modes are like different games. Like fallout 3 is. Kind of rpg like in some aspects, but this is still an action game. With a comic element as the story. I will play through this at least two times. More than I can say for most single player games.

EvilCole25--screenshot_viewer_medium

Is this a system seller AAA title? No. Is this a good game? YES. If you like sand box comic super powers, interesting comic like story telling, this is a must. The game play is good, it’s not perfect, but it does come close. This is a ps3 exclusive, and it is a nice addition. I like this a lot more than prototype as well. Opening words:PS3, PS3, PS3, why? you can play as the joker!!! and that makes this version the best hands down. Don’t bother with the pc and xbox versions.

Presentation: 9.4
GREAT! This lives and breathes a good version of the batman series. Voice actors are from the Animated Series. The look and feel of everything, the menus, the splash scenes of batman. The story is very well done, incorporating most of batman’s old foes. Paul Dini wrote the story and it is based on the comic series and not some other garbage spin off 3rd party crap. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Arleen Sorkin all lend their vocal talents for this game.

Single Player: 9.6
The single player game is the core, this is the story mode, but there is also the challenge modes. The story in this is very good, I am not a huge batman fan and I found this to be very enticing. You become batman in every sense. You fight like him in the beat em up part of the game, you sneak around like him in the stealth parts of the game, and you get more and more gadgets over time that really keep the pace and the new experiences kicking in all at the right times. The way they tell the story is excellent. How joker always is talking at you over the PA in the asylum is really cool, and eggs you on. The challenge modes are more like old school beat em up style challenges. I think the storty mode is amazing. The boss battles are fun as well.

Visuals: 9.2
The attention to detail is phenomenal. The characters looks stunningly amazing. I cannot believe this was made with the unreal engine. Shows that in the right hands, it’s even better than the inventors of the engine. There is no slow down, the game runs silky smooth on the ps3. The environments are jaw droppingly erie and spooky in that great gotham way. I cannot get over how great this game looks even against all the other AAA ps3 games on the market now. WOW.

Audio: 9.5
Top notch. Seriously, the music, the voice acting, the sound fx. It is perfect. I cannot stress how well done the voice acting is in this game. Sometimes the audio gets really suspenseful and creepy.

Game Mechanics: 9.0:
The game is easy to pick up and play, although the stealth parts really take patients and waiting for the right time to do silent sleeper attacks. If you try and run and gun against bad guys who have guns, you will lose every time, you must use stealth to take out the guys with guns usually. The beat em up parts are really fun, and you can button mash or play smart. The combo system, and leveling up with bat points, is really cool, and new powers and gadgets will be unlocked over time. I really see this as more of an RPG with splinter cell style stealth with batman gadgets, with an 80s arcade beat em up mixed in. Nothing is really hard to master either. It does take some skill when it comes to the stealth, but other than that, I think this game is pretty accessible to anyone who wants to play it. I like the exploding batterangs. And also the grappling hook, exploding gel. The gadgets are really cool. Some of the level designs are really good, There are parts of the game that are like a platforming style type of game. The asylum is huge, and there is a lot to explore, but that being said, you will come back through a lot of the same buildings, the good thing is that all the buildings seem real, like they have a purpose. The game reminded me of metroid on the game cube, because once you unlock certain gadgets, you are able to go back to a place and get to a new place you couldn’t before. I really liked his electro vision mode that shows you all the clues and makes everything look weird. I played most of the game in this mode, I love how it turns people into skeletons and you can see them through objects and detect them through heat.

Story: 8.5
A Brand new story line based on the comics. Batman easily captures the joker, takes him back to the looney bin prison. Joker escapes his henchman have taken over the entire prison. A lot of the people Batman has locked up over the years make their appearance in the story. Many of the boss fights etc. There are some great twists and sub plots. The way the story is told through psyche ward evaluation tapes and notes is very well done, and very creepy in some ways. Very good.

Replay: 7.9
The ps3 version gives you all the challenges with the joker, so it’s the one to get. Still there is no multiplayer element, or online mode. So this kind of hurts the replay.

I seriously have not had more fun with a single player game this year so far. I highly recommend that you rent it no matter what. This is a buy if you like these kinds of games. By far this is the best comic book based hero video game ever made. No joke! I am not into comics like I used to be when I was younger. No matter what, batman and all his super cool gadgets makes for a great video game this time around. AMAZING. Buy Batman Arkham Asylum for the ps3 by Clicking Here.
